Many of our friends and colleagues have enjoyed Hal Kibbey’s Star Trak column on our website. Star Trak has been deeply appreciated by the community, our students, and the Astronomy department – always our go-to source of what to expect in the sky in the coming month!
Hal has been producing this monthly night sky-round up for more than two decades, providing a clear and reliable summary of the moon, planets, meteor showers, comets – all that’s happening in the sky, astronomically speaking. In recognition of his dedicated service to the mission of Indiana University and the Department of Astronomy to serve our community, the Department is pleased to present Hal with a Frank K. Edmondson Outreach Award.
Hal retired from Star Trak at the end of last year, but the Department hopes to continue the monthly column on our website. We hope all Star Trak lovers will continue to enjoy these regular guides to the night sky.
