IU Astronomy graduate student Brandon Radzom has just been selected to participate in the 2023 NASA Planetary Science Summer School, a 3-month summer program for doctoral students, post-docs, and early faculty who are interested in science-driven robotic space exploration.
Brandon will get an in-depth, first-hand look at mission design, life cycle, costs, schedule, and the trade-offs inherent in robotic space missions, and receive training in developing hypothesis-driven robotic space mission concepts. He will work with a cohort of fellow participants to carry out a planetary mission concept study in collaboration with NASA mentors. The program will culminate in a presentation of the mission concept to a panel of NASA scientists at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
Congratulations, Brandon! We can’t wait to hear about your proposed mission.
