IU Astronomy graduate student Chris Macias, passes his dissertation defense and completed all the requirements of his PhD. Chris worked on technologies to detect scintillation photons signals in LAr in the context of the DUNE single-phase far detector module design.
The title of his dissertation: "Neutrino Hunting: Looking Through a UV Lens Scintillation Photon Detection in a Large-Volume Liquid Argon Time Projection Chamber, exposed to a Multi-GeV Charged Particle Beam"
