NASA’s ExoExplorers program focuses on the professional development of graduate student and postdoc researchers at US and international[1] institutions. The goal is to build research networks and increase the visibility of young scientists in the exoplanet community, as well as to facilitate cohort-led initiatives on bolstering diversity, inclusion, and accessibility within astronomy as a whole. Each member of the cohort presents a webinar on their research that will be live-streamed to the broader exoplanet community and have opportunities to meet with and learn from established exoplanet researchers and engineers in the field. ExoExplorers can also take advantage of professional development events on topics such as proposal writing, establishing inclusive collaborations, career building, and public speaking.
Armaan’s research, performed with Prof. Songhu Wang, focuses on the statistical investigation of the architectures of multiple-planet systems, and how the evolution of these architectures may be linked to orbital resonances between the planets themselves. You can read about some of Armaan’s recent work here.
Congratulations Armaan and we look forward to your presentation on February 17th.
