Dear IU students in physics, astronomy, and other STEM disciplines,
Interested in getting involved in research? Want to learn Python or just gain general programming skills? Look no further, as graduate students from IU's Astronomy Department will be hosting our 3rd annual Python Crash Course on Thursday, September 26 from 5:30-6:45 pm in Swain West 208. During this crash course, we will teach you the fundamental components of Python as we walk you through a real-world problem in astrophysics. Also, free pizza will be available, so come hungry!
No prior experience with Python/programming is necessary to attend. We recommend you bring a device with an internet browser (ideally a personal laptop) to code on at the crash course. We will be running Python on Google Colab for this session, so you do not need to install anything beforehand.
If you plan on attending, please fill out this brief interest form so we can plan accordingly: https://forms.gle/2EWF2jaP3LPQrKXA9 (note you must be logged in to your IU Google account to access).
We're looking forward to coding with you all,
