Congratulations to Jongsuk Hong for receiving the Young Astronomer Award by the Korean Astronomical Society for his outstanding contributions to the advancement of astronomy in South Korea.
Dr. Hong's research concerns the dynamical evolution of globular clusters and the interplay between dynamics and the clusters' stellar content including binary stars, blue stragglers, X-ray binaries, binary black holes producing gravitational waves.
Dr. Hong was a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Astronomy working with Enrico Vesperini from 2013 to 2016.
Congratulations Jongsuk!
