Research Interests
Dr. Scalco’s research focuses on Galactic globular clusters, with particular emphasis on multiple stellar populations, including their spatial and kinematic properties as well as their luminosity and mass functions. His work also extends to the study of white dwarf cooling sequences in globular clusters. He conducts these investigations using space-based telescopes, in particular JWST, HST, and Gaia.
He is the principal investigator of the JWST program GO-5896 and the HST program GO-16247.
