Emeritus Professor Richard Durisen

We’re excited to report that Emeritus Professor Richard Durisen’s first published novel, a work of science fiction, is available on Amazon!  The book is entitled “From the Shadows of the Landscape,”  and the teaser reads “By the 37th Century, the Human Domain stretches hundreds of light years into the Milky Way Galaxy. Most occupants live long, rich, and untroubled lives—until something beckons from far beyond its edge.”

Durisen's Book Cover

Dick joined the Astronomy faculty at IU in 1976, working on simulations of fluid and particle system dynamics applied to star and planet formation, including the structure and stability of astrophysical disks and planetary ring systems.  Since retiring in 2010, he has devoted his time to developing his craft as a writer, publishing a number of short stories and poems.  To see more of Dick’s work, check out https://durisen.com.

For those in the Bloomington area, the book will launch from 3:00-5:00 PM on April 12 at the Monroe County Public Library.
