Biographical Information

Alex Deibel joined the IU Astronomy Department in August 2017. He earned his Bachelorís degrees in Astronomy and Interdisciplinary Physics from the University of Michigan in 2010. He earned a Masterís degree in Astrophysics at Michigan State University in 2012 and a Ph.D. in Astrophysics at Michigan State University in 2017.

Research Interests

Dr. Deibelís primary research areas are in theoretical nuclear astrophysics and theoretical stellar astrophysics. Much of his research involves numerical models of neutron stars and uses X-ray observations of these objects to model their interiors.
